Engineer / Sr. Engineer (Production Supervisor)

About the role

Valeo is seeking an Engineer or Senior Engineer to act as Production Supervisor for a dedicated area. The role combines people management, training coordination, and continuous improvement in a high‑tech automotive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Induct and train all newcomers, including temporary staff, and organise training actions.
• Analyse skill needs, define training plans, and monitor operator certifications.
• Manage daily absenteeism, holidays, safety compliance, and update performance boards.
• Ensure adherence to standard breaks, meetings, and working time validation on the shop floor.
• Lead monthly objective reviews, conduct annual appraisals, salary reviews and career interviews.
• Perform daily on‑the‑job training (OJT) and enforce health, safety, environmental and site rules.
• Maintain up‑to‑date work instructions, ensure compliance with safety, quality, 5S and product standards.
• Define and deploy TPM standards, detect abnormalities, and oversee first‑level preventive maintenance.
• Control equipment performance, measure cycle times, and implement MUDA reduction actions.
• Propose weekly headcounts and organization plans to meet Master Production Schedule (MPS) targets.

Required profile

• Experience in supervising production teams in an automotive or high‑tech manufacturing setting.
• Strong ability to analyse flexibility and multi‑skill requirements.
• Proven track record in managing training, certification, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Excellent communication skills for daily shop‑floor interaction and stakeholder updates.
