Engineer I, Maintenance

About the role

CommScope is seeking a motivated Engineer I – Maintenance to join our Goa site. You will be responsible for keeping production equipment in optimal condition, executing preventive maintenance, and supporting new line installations.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and execute a preventive maintenance program.
• Review and improve the spare parts inventory.
• Provide engineering support to resolve breakdown calls and maximize machine uptime.
• Lead focused improvement projects to increase MTBF and reduce MTTR.
• Train technicians and conduct regular RCAs/FMEAs.
• Control maintenance costs and update KPI dashboards.
• Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and safety norms.
• Mechanize maintenance activities and commission new equipment.
• Develop and apply SPMs to boost operational efficiency.
• Maintain 5S standards and maximize OEE.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics or Industrial Engineering with 6‑8 years experience, or Diploma with 10‑12 years experience.
• Minimum 5 years experience in fiber‑optics connector manufacturing.
• Strong leadership ability in a manufacturing environment.
• Deep understanding of mechanical systems, electrical control, and installation standards.
• Experience with CBM tools such as vibration monitoring, thermography and power consumption analysis.
• Project management experience and vendor collaboration for equipment upgrades.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
