Electrical Supervisor – Site Maintenance

About the role

The Electrical Supervisor will have independent charge of the low‑tension (LT) electrical installation at a single site. The incumbent performs hands‑on work while also acting as the competent person responsible for safety, compliance and performance of the system.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain, inspect and troubleshoot the 415 V, 3‑phase LT distribution system, including switchgear, distribution boards, busbars and change‑over switches.
• Monitor APFC/capacitor panels, energy meters and phase‑wise load balancing; report abnormal loading and power‑factor deviations.
• Conduct scheduled thermographic inspections of panels, joints and terminations, log hotspots and drive corrective actions.
• Supervise MHE battery charging bays, ensuring charger condition, cable integrity, ventilation and adherence to charging windows.
• Ensure uninterrupted power to fire‑safety‑critical systems such as fire‑alarm panels, pump starters, emergency lighting and exit signage.
• Operate and maintain DG sets and UPS systems, performing load tests, battery health checks and record‑keeping.
• Maintain earth pits, perform continuity checks and periodic earth‑resistance testing in line with IS 3043.
• Enforce lock‑out/tag‑out procedures, issue and control electrical work permits for contractors.
• Maintain the site electrical register and close observations from audits, insurer inspections and fire‑safety reviews.
• Escalate shutdowns, capital repairs or vendor interventions to the City Lead, Admin Manager and Capex function.

Required profile

• Valid Electrical Supervisor Certificate of Competency issued by the State Electrical Licensing Board for the posting state.
• Ability to act as the sole competent electrical person on site, performing both supervisory and hands‑on duties.
