Electrical Maintenance Engineer – Offshore

About the role

The company is seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to support offshore operations in Mumbai. The role focuses on maintaining and troubleshooting production and marine electrical systems to ensure safe, reliable performance.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and troubleshoot generators, HV/LV switchboards, MCCs, transformers, UPS, VFDs, motors, emergency power systems, navigation aids and marine utilities.
• Execute preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance on compressors, pumps, gas dehydration units, separators, crude export and water injection systems following OEM recommendations and CMMS schedules.
• Ensure compliance with offshore electrical safety standards, including hazardous area (Ex) equipment inspection, LOTO, PTW, statutory testing, earthing and lightning protection per IEC/ATEX/OISD/ABS.
• Respond to electrical failures, perform fault diagnosis, root‑cause analysis and reliability improvements, and manage spare parts.
• Maintain electrical documentation such as single‑line diagrams, maintenance records, calibration certificates and support audits, emergency drills, shutdowns and commissioning activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in offshore oil & gas, FPSO or offshore platforms.
• Strong knowledge of offshore power distribution and relevant standards (IEC, IEEE, API, NEC, ATEX/IECEx).
• Offshore certifications (BOSIET/FOET, HUET) and valid offshore medical certificate preferred.
