EHS Officer – Fire & Safety

About the role

Britannia is seeking an experienced EHS Officer specialized in fire and safety to lead and enhance its environmental, health and safety programs at the Ranjangaon manufacturing site. The role involves establishing robust EHS systems, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering a safety‑first culture across the plant.

Key responsibilities

• Establish, maintain and continuously improve the EHS management system (ISO 45001 & ISO 14001).
• Implement and monitor fire‑fighting equipment, fire hydrant systems, extinguishers and smoke detectors.
• Oversee environmental management activities, including effluent treatment plant operation and air‑water pollution control.
• Conduct hazard identification, risk assessments and develop operational control procedures.
• Design and deliver EHS training modules and ensure training plans are executed.
• Ensure legal compliance by identifying relevant EHS regulations and monitoring adherence.
• Coordinate emergency response plans, mock drills and incident investigations.
• Promote EHS culture through communications, campaigns, Kaizen initiatives and regular audits.
• Liaise with government bodies and share best practices within the EHS network.

Required profile

• B.E/B.Tech in Environment, Fire & Safety, Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical engineering, or B.Sc. in Physics/Chemistry/Mathematics.
• 1‑year Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety (ADIS) approved by MSBTE or Diploma in Fire & Safety.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in FMCG, API or automotive manufacturing.
• Proficiency in Marathi (mandatory) and good command of English and Hindi.
• Preference for candidates residing in Maharashtra.
