EDM Machine Operator

About the role

The EDM Machine Operator will work on Electrical Discharge Machining equipment to produce tooling components according to engineering drawings. The role is based at Aptiv Connection Systems India in Cochin and involves hands‑on machine operation in a manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, operate and monitor EDM machines to manufacture parts that meet specified dimensions.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and work orders to select appropriate tooling and parameters.
• Adjust cutting speeds, feeds and other process settings to achieve required surface finish and tolerances.
• Perform routine maintenance, inspections and basic troubleshooting to minimise downtime.
• Document production data and report any deviations or quality issues.

Required profile

• Minimum ITI or any diploma in a relevant technical field.
• At least 3 years of hands‑on experience operating EDM or similar machining equipment.
• Ability to work independently while adhering to safety and quality standards.
