Drug Safety Scientist – Pharmacovigilance Operations

About the role

As a Drug Safety Scientist within Accenture’s Life Sciences R&D vertical, you will support pharmacovigilance operations for leading biopharma clients. The role focuses on ensuring drug safety through systematic monitoring, data analysis, and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, enter, and code adverse event data (ICSRs) using MedDRA standards.
• Process cases, prepare submissions, and manage follow‑ups in the safety database according to client and global regulatory guidelines.
• Analyze safety data to identify trends, assess risks, and support decision‑making.
• Collaborate with internal Accenture teams and, when required, with client stakeholders.
• Provide oversight for small work efforts or teams and ensure quality of deliverables.
• Participate in rotational shift schedules to maintain 24/7 pharmacovigilance coverage.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Pharmacy and Master of Pharmacy degrees.
• 5–8 years of experience in pharmacovigilance or drug safety surveillance.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and to guide junior staff.

Required skills

• Pharmacovigilance Operations.
