Driver HR Head – Logistics & Transport

About the role

The Driver HR Head will lead all human‑resource functions related to the driver workforce for a logistics and transportation operation based in Gurgaon. You will be responsible for planning, recruiting, onboarding, and retaining skilled drivers while ensuring compliance with statutory and client requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute end‑to‑end driver manpower planning, recruitment and onboarding across multiple locations.
• Develop hiring strategies to guarantee timely availability of trained drivers.
• Oversee verification processes including licence checks, police verification, medical fitness and statutory documentation.
• Implement driver welfare, retention, engagement and reward programmes.
• Monitor attendance, deployment, absenteeism, attrition and productivity metrics.
• Coordinate with operations and fleet teams for driver allocation and route management.
• Drive safety initiatives, accident‑reduction measures and defensive‑driving training.
• Handle disciplinary actions, grievance management and employee‑relations matters for drivers.
• Create SOPs, policies and MIS reports related to manpower, overtime, utilization, accidents and compliance.
• Lead audits and ensure statutory and client‑compliance readiness, including contractor and vendor workforce compliance.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in transport HR, driver workforce handling or fleet coordination.
• Strong leadership and team‑management capabilities.
• Excellent knowledge of labour compliance and transport‑specific HR operations.
• Analytical, communication and negotiation skills.
