Driveability Calibration Team Lead – Powertrain (Gasoline & Diesel)

About the role

The Drivability Calibration Lead is responsible for leading calibration activities that ensure optimal vehicle performance, comfort, and responsiveness across a range of driving conditions. The role requires close collaboration with hardware, software and validation teams to deliver high‑quality calibration for internal combustion, hybrid or electric powertrains.

Key responsibilities

• Lead drivability calibration activities for assigned vehicle programs from development to production.
• Manage a calibration team of approximately 10 engineers.
• Collaborate with simulation and modelling teams to predict and refine drivability behaviour.
• Interface with OEMs, internal stakeholders and external development partners (AVL, FEV, Punch, AISIN) to align on targets.
• Define and execute calibration strategies for throttle response, torque delivery, gear‑shift quality and pedal mapping.
• Conduct vehicle testing in diverse environments such as altitude, hot/cold climates and urban/rural roads.
• Analyze drivability metrics using tools such as INCA and ETAS and support issue resolution through root‑cause analysis.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Industrial Production or Mechatronics engineering.
• 6–10 years of experience in vehicle calibration or related automotive engineering roles.

Required skills

• Proficiency with INCA calibration software.
• Proficiency with ETAS tools.
