Drive Shaft Design Engineer

About the role

SEGULA Technologies is seeking a Drive Shaft Design Engineer to join its global engineering team. You will be responsible for designing and developing drive shafts and related rotating components for automotive and industrial applications, using advanced CAD tools and engineering standards.

Key responsibilities

• Create 3D models and assemblies of drive shafts, universal joints, splines and related parts using CATIA V5 or CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE.
• Produce detailed engineering drawings, apply GD&T, and perform tolerance stack‑up analyses.
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are compatible with machining, forging, casting, welding, tube forming and heat‑treatment processes.
• Validate designs through balancing calculations and bearing selection.
• Support the design‑release process and maintain documentation throughout the product lifecycle.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of mechanical design experience, preferably with drive shafts, driveline systems or rotating equipment.
• Strong knowledge of drive shaft construction, universal joints, splines, balancing and bearing technology.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes such as machining, forging, casting, welding, tube forming and heat treatment.

Required skills

• CATIA V5 or CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE (Part Design, Assembly Design, Drafting, Generative Shape Design).
• Proficiency in engineering drawings, GD&T and tolerance stack‑up analysis.
• Experience with design‑release procedures.
