Director of Events

About the role

The Director of Events will lead the planning, execution, and post‑event activities for complex property events, ensuring a seamless experience for customers and maximizing revenue opportunities. This full‑time position reports to the Director of Event Management and acts as the primary point of contact for event clients.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare all event documentation and coordinate with sales, property departments, and customers throughout pre‑event, event, and post‑event phases.
• Lead pre‑event and post‑event meetings, identify operational challenges, and develop solutions with property staff.
• Manage customer budgets, room blocks, and meeting spaces to meet client needs while maximizing profitability.
• Upsell products and services, participate in site inspections, and act as liaison between field sales and customers.
• Forecast sleeping rooms and catering/audio‑visual revenue, review billing, and ensure timely payments.
• Provide exceptional customer service, handle guest issues, and follow up after events.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED with at least 2 years of event‑management experience, OR a 2‑year degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and a customer‑focused mindset.
• Ability to manage budgets, coordinate cross‑functional teams, and deliver high‑quality events.
