Direct Taxation Specialist

About the role

The Direct Taxation Specialist will lead end‑to‑end corporate tax compliance, manage tax audits, transfer‑pricing matters and provide strategic tax advisory to support the business in achieving tax‑efficient outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and file Corporate Income Tax returns and manage related assessments.
• Lead tax audits, ensure timely closure of audit requirements and handle appeals before CIT(A), DRP, ITAT and other forums.
• Oversee transfer‑pricing compliance, documentation, benchmarking studies and cross‑border tax treaty analysis.
• Manage current and deferred tax provisioning, effective tax rate analysis and Ind AS tax accounting.
• Provide withholding tax opinions, advance tax computations and support TDS‑related matters.
• Advise business units on tax‑efficient structures, M&A due diligence, international taxation and tax planning initiatives.
• Collaborate with Finance, Legal, Treasury and external advisors to strengthen tax governance and drive process automation.

Required profile

• 4–9 years of experience in corporate tax compliance, litigation and transfer pricing.
• Professional qualification such as CA, CA Inter, CMA, MBA (Finance), LLM or LL.B.
• Exposure to large corporates, infrastructure, EPC, manufacturing, energy, real‑estate or Big‑4 environments.
• Experience with M&A tax due diligence and international cross‑border transactions.

Required skills

• Proficiency in SAP tax modules or related ERP environments.
• Strong knowledge of Indian tax statutes, Ind AS, ICDS and DTAA provisions.
• Ability to prepare tax MIS reports and present findings to senior leadership.
