DevOps Engineer (AWS Cost Optimization)

About the role

Persistent is seeking a DevOps Engineer with 5‑8 years of experience to lead cost‑optimization initiatives on AWS while building and maintaining robust automation pipelines. You will collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams to improve performance, security, and availability across our enterprise cloud environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain automation solutions that monitor, control and reduce AWS cloud spend.
• Create and manage Jenkins pipelines for continuous integration and deployment.
• Analyze AWS Cost and Usage Reports (CUR, Cost Explorer) and enforce cost‑governance policies.
• Develop tagging strategies and automated scripts for accurate cost allocation.
• Document automation workflows, scripts and processes.
• Collaborate with Cloud, DevOps and Engineering teams to embed FinOps best practices.

Required profile

• 5‑8 years of hands‑on experience in DevOps or Automation engineering.
• Graduation in IT or related field (PG/MCA/MBA acceptable).
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to identify inefficiencies and automate solutions.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Required skills

• AWS services: EC2, S3, Lambda, CloudWatch, RDS, IAM.
• AWS Lambda for automation and AWS CodeCommit.
• CI/CD tools, especially Jenkins (pipeline development).
• Understanding of AWS pricing models and cost‑optimization best practices.
• FinOps practices and cost‑management tools.
• Container platforms: Docker, Kubernetes.
