Design Engineer

About the role

Stonestry is seeking a Design Engineer to create accurate 2D drawings and 3D models for stone fabrication projects. The role involves close collaboration with architects, designers, and production teams to ensure designs are manufacturable and meet client specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Create 2D drawings and 3D models using Rhino, SolidWorks, and AutoCAD.
• Develop production‑ready shop, fabrication, and installation drawings.
• Prepare CNC‑ready files and optimise designs for manufacturing efficiency.
• Interpret architectural drawings, specifications and client requirements.
• Design custom stone products such as countertops, cladding, flooring, staircases, facades, monuments and sculptures.
• Perform design modifications based on feedback and production constraints.
• Maintain project documentation, revision history and drawing standards.
• Support installation teams with technical clarifications.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 3–7 years of design engineering experience, preferably in stone, marble, granite or related architectural stone industries.
• Strong knowledge of stone fabrication processes and CNC machining.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
• Excellent problem‑solving, analytical and communication skills.
