Job description

About the role

Chevron ENGINE, the Engineering and Innovation Excellence Center in Bengaluru, is looking for a Decision Analysis Consultant to join its ENGINE Innovation team. The role supports investment decisions and commercial negotiations across the business, from upstream oil and gas to LNG, midstream, refining and lower carbon. Working hours are typically 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM or 1:30 PM to 10:30 PM, Monday to Friday, and may change with business needs.

Key responsibilities

  • Support globally based Decision Analysis consultants in framing opportunities, building and refining decision and economic analysis models, performing analysis and preparing communication materials.
  • Build, update and adapt decision models of medium complexity for different fiscal regimes, including production sharing contracts and joint venture agreements, possibly with tax and legal departments.
  • Lead framing and decision-structuring sessions and facilitate complex, multifunctional discussions, producing summaries and communication.
  • Elicit, debias and coordinate data from SMEs and departments, covering multiple data sets for key uncertainties.
  • Run qualitative, deterministic and probabilistic analyses, including cumulative probability curves, tornado diagrams and value of information studies.
  • Communicate findings, including presentations and project documentation, and clarify the minimum investment and incremental value of enhancements.
  • Take part in Decision Quality assurance, including model reviews, challenging assumptions and inputs.

Required profile

  • Higher education degree in business, economics or finance, preferably with an undergraduate degree in a technical area such as engineering.
  • At least 5 years of experience, 10 years preferred; upstream oil and gas experience is ideal.
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.
  • Comfortable working with diverse teams such as engineering, scientists, legal, tax, finance and commercial, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Required skills

  • Advanced Excel, including complex formulas and equations; basic knowledge of decision tree concepts is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of economics, cash flow modeling, tax and depreciation.
  • Good grasp of framing concepts, uncertainty and risk; exposure to tools like S-curves, investment efficiency charts and tornado diagrams is a plus.
  • Experience with AI tools and agent development is a plus.

What we offer

  • Opportunities to take part in world-leading energy projects and grow within an inclusive, collaborative workplace.
  • Structured learning, mentorship and projects aligned with Chevron's values.
  • Comprehensive benefits supporting health, well-being and work-life balance.

Chevron does not sponsor employment visas or consider candidates on time-limited visa status for this position.
