Data Scientist – eCommerce Product Discovery

About the role

We are building the next generation of eCommerce product discovery and need a data‑driven, AI‑curious professional to join our Product Knowledge team. This hands‑on role sits at the intersection of data analytics, AI/ML experimentation, and prompt engineering, offering early‑career talent the chance to work directly with LLMs and improve search and recommendation engines.

Key responsibilities

• Run SQL queries and Python scripts to analyse taxonomy, ontology and catalog data, identifying gaps for search improvement.
• Assist in building and testing prompt‑engineering workflows to automate data enrichment, product classification and taxonomy validation.
• Support model evaluation by testing product‑knowledge models, semantic search solutions and embeddings against defined metrics.
• Collaborate with data scientists, product managers and engineers to refine AI‑based classification models.
• Develop quick prototypes to test data hypotheses and validate new structured‑data ideas.

Required profile

• 2–7 years of hands‑on experience in data analytics, product analytics or data science.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to spot patterns and communicate findings clearly.
• High energy, adaptability and a growth mindset for fast‑paced environments.
• Interest in eCommerce search, recommendations or knowledge graphs.
