Data Protection Consultant – Privacy & Compliance

About the role

We are looking for a Data Protection Consultant to join Bosch Global Software Technologies in Bengaluru. In this role you will advise engineering and product teams on privacy requirements and ensure compliance with global and regional data protection regulations throughout the product lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with data protection standards for processing personal data.
• Provide guidance on privacy requirements during product development and solution design.
• Collaborate with Security Managers to define technical and organisational measures.
• Implement Privacy by Design and Privacy by Default principles.
• Draft, review and negotiate data protection agreements and related documents.
• Coordinate with international data protection teams to meet market‑specific compliance.
• Manage data protection aspects from requirements analysis to deployment and end‑of‑life.
• Conduct supplier assessments, vendor risk management and compliance checks.
• Support risk assessments, recommend mitigation measures and participate in audits and quality‑gate reviews.
• Maintain project master data and MIS reports for data protection compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Science or related field.
• 4–6 years of experience in personal data protection or information security.
• Strong knowledge of regional (DPDPA) and international data protection regulations.
• Hands‑on experience implementing Privacy by Design and Privacy by Default.

Required skills

• ISO 27001 Lead Auditor certification (or ISO 27701).
• CIPP/A, CIPP/E or DCPLA certification (preferred).
• Proficiency with MS Office tools.
