Data Engineer (Snowflake | DBT)

About the role

OpenGov is seeking a skilled Data Engineer to bridge business stakeholders and data solutions. You will work hands‑on with Snowflake, dbt and Airflow to build reliable, scalable data products that power decision‑making across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with analytics, operations, GTM and G&A teams to gather requirements and translate problem statements into clear data specifications.
• Design and build dimensional and analytical models in Snowflake using dbt, applying best‑practice layering, documentation and testing.
• Develop, test and maintain Airflow DAGs to orchestrate multi‑step pipelines, ensuring reliability, observability and SLA compliance.
• Implement data quality and freshness checks within dbt, perform exploratory analysis, and monitor data SLAs to guarantee trustworthy data delivery.

Required profile

• 4–6 years of experience in data engineering or analytics engineering.
• Hands‑on experience building dbt projects in Snowflake, including model layering and materializations.
• Proven ability to author production Airflow DAGs for complex workflows.
• Strong SQL skills and proficiency in Python for data manipulation and automation.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics or a related field.
