Data Engineer - Real-Time Streaming (Flink / Java / Kafka)

About the role

An experienced Data Engineer is sought to design, implement and manage high-performance real-time streaming solutions using Apache Kafka, Apache Flink and Java. The role builds scalable event-driven architectures, manages cloud-native infrastructure and ensures secure, fault-tolerant streaming platforms supporting enterprise-scale digital banking applications.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and manage Kafka-based real-time streaming applications for high-throughput, low-latency environments
• Build scalable streaming pipelines with Kafka Connect, ksqlDB and Schema Registry
• Develop distributed streaming applications with Apache Flink and Java
• Optimize streaming architecture for performance, reliability and scalability
• Configure, administer and optimize Kafka clusters for high availability and disaster recovery
• Provision infrastructure with Terraform and use GitOps for deployment and configuration
• Secure the platform with SSL/mTLS, SASL and ACLs
• Work with Data Engineering, DevOps, Cloud and Product teams, troubleshoot production issues and maintain documentation

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience
• Distributed streaming architecture
• Preferred: banking or financial services experience
