About the role
The Data Engineer II will collaborate with clients and the eCS Biometrics team to enhance the elluminate® platform, delivering end‑to‑end solutions for aggregating, transforming, and reporting clinical trial data. The role involves designing ETL processes, creating custom reports and visualizations, and driving automation and quality improvements.
Key responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and deploy efficient code for SDTM, custom reports and visualizations using MS SQL, elluminate® Mapper and Qlik.
- Configure ETL pipelines to aggregate and standardize data from EDC systems, SAS, and laboratory vendors.
- Translate business requirements into database objects, dashboards and analytical views in collaboration with analytics developers and clients.
- Manage multiple timelines and deliverables across single or multiple clients, maintaining clear communication.
- Provide diagnostic support, troubleshoot issues and fix defects while ensuring compliance with quality standards.
Required profile
- 3+ years of professional experience, preferably with a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- Strong critical‑thinking, problem‑solving and communication skills, able to work with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Experience in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology/life‑science industry or CRO environment is a plus.
- Familiarity with clinical trial data standards such as CDISC ODM, SDTM or ADaM is advantageous.
Required skills
- Proficient in SQL, T‑SQL and PL/SQL programming.
- Hands‑on experience with data‑reporting tools such as QlikSense, QlikView, Spotfire or Tableau.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and big‑data technologies (Spark, Hadoop).
- Experience with ETL tools (Informatica, IBM DataStage) and data‑modeling concepts.
- Familiarity with programming languages including Python, R, C# and .NET.
