Data Engineer I – Build Sustainable Data Solutions

About the role

Mastercard is seeking a Data Engineer I to help design and deliver robust data and analytics products that support its Sustainable Technology initiatives. The role focuses on building reliable data pipelines and infrastructure for internal and external customers.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain new data capabilities and infrastructure for Mastercard's Sustainable Technology Internal Data Lake.
• Create data pipelines, transfers, and compliance‑oriented infrastructure for seamless data utilization across on‑premise and cloud environments.
• Identify gaps or opportunities in existing data capabilities and provide subject‑matter expertise for remediation.
• Collaborate with technical teams and business stakeholders to translate data requirements into technical solutions.
• Work with large datasets, ensuring data quality, accuracy, and performance.
• Implement data transformation, integration, and validation processes to support analytics, BI, and reporting needs.
• Optimize and fine‑tune data pipelines for improved speed, reliability, and efficiency.
• Apply best practices for data storage, retrieval, and governance.
