Culinary Associate

About the role

The Culinary Associate supports the kitchen team by preparing ingredients, cooking dishes, and maintaining a clean, safe work environment. This full‑time position is based at Marriott's property in Indore, Madhya Pradesh.

Key responsibilities

• Portion, chop, wash, peel, weigh, measure and mix ingredients according to recipes.
• Prepare and cook hot and cold foods, ensuring quality, presentation and safety standards.
• Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, fryers and other kitchen equipment.
• Test food for doneness, monitor temperature of appliances and food.
• Set up and break down work stations, serve food in proper portions, and maintain proper storage.
• Clean and disinfect kitchen areas, tools, knives and equipment.
• Follow company safety, security and hygiene policies; report incidents and maintenance needs.
• Maintain professional appearance and uphold confidentiality of proprietary information.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• At least 1 year of related food‑service or kitchen experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift and carry objects up to 25 lb.

Required skills

• Operation of ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers.
• Food preparation techniques (chopping, portioning, measuring).
• Understanding of food safety and temperature control standards.
