Cost Center, Profitability Accounting and Non-Trade Analyst

About the role

BASF is hiring a Cost Center, Profitability Accounting and Non-Trade Analyst in Hyderabad, India, within its Global Business Services unit (Finance, Controlling & Audit). The role supports business units in preparing company income statements, focusing on cost center allocations, variance explanations, monthly EBIT analysis and billing activities outside the core business. It covers daily and monthly cost center accounting, income statement, profitability accounting and non-trade activities, with a hybrid work model.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily and monthly cost center accounting, income statement, profitability accounting and non-trade processes for BASF group companies and businesses.
• Distribute expenses across cost objects each month and generate monthly income statements.
• Ensure consistency and accuracy between financial and management accounting modules.
• Analyze the correct allocation of monthly and annual income statement positions and review variances against prior periods to support EBIT reporting.
• Execute and support billing activities not related to the core business.
• Identify and support process design, standardization, improvement and automation opportunities.
• Support audits, internal controls, reconciliations and other organizational requirements.

Required profile

• Professional qualification in Finance (e.g. B.Com, CA, CPA) or an MBA or Master's in finance, accounting or a related discipline.
• 1-3 years of experience in accounting, finance, business reporting or a related field.
• Understanding of cost center accounting, expense allocations, income statement reporting, profitability analysis and month-end activities.
• C1 Spanish and C2 English; fluent English required.
• Experience in a shared services, multinational or GCC environment is an advantage.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Exposure to SAP is required.
• Knowledge of financial and management accounting processes, cost objects and internal controls.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to accuracy and detail, and stakeholder coordination.
