Corporate Cafeteria Steward (Food Server)

About the role

The Steward will support daily operations of a corporate cafeteria, ensuring hygiene, cleanliness, and smooth service for employees. The role includes maintaining the kitchen and dining areas, as well as serving food and beverages in meeting rooms according to scheduled bookings.

Key responsibilities

• Wash and sanitize crockery, cutlery, trays, and cooking utensils using dishwashers or manual methods.
• Maintain cleanliness of cafeteria floors, tables, counters, and service areas throughout the day.
• Replenish clean plates, glasses, and cutlery promptly during peak meal periods.
• Serve food, tea, and coffee in meeting rooms and boardrooms, ensuring timely and presentable service.
• Set up and clear meeting‑room refreshment counters, including trays, cups, and snacks.
• Assist kitchen staff with transporting food trolleys, ingredients, and supplies between kitchen and serving stations.
• Segregate waste (wet, dry, food) according to facility and statutory guidelines.
• Report equipment breakdowns (dishwasher, refrigeration units) to the supervisor immediately.

Required profile

• Minimum qualification: 10th/12th pass.
• 0–2 years of experience in institutional/corporate catering, hotel, or restaurant stewarding.
• Prior experience serving food and beverages in meetings or boardrooms.
• Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation norms (FSSAI standards).
• Ability to work a single day shift with occasional overtime during events.
