About the role

Mount Holyoke College Dining Commons is seeking a dedicated Cook to join its culinary team. You will help prepare a diverse menu that includes vegan, vegetarian, halal, and kosher options, ensuring high‑quality meals for students, faculty, and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare recipes safely using boiling, roasting, sautéing, steaming, baking, frying, and grilling/broiling techniques.
• Follow sanitation and Board of Health regulations, record daily food temperatures, and maintain production logs.
• Provide accurate allergen information and ingredient labeling for all dishes.
• Assist with menu planning and inventory management, including daily counts and FIFO rotation.
• Maintain cooking equipment, keep workspaces clean and organized, and collaborate with team members for smooth operations.

Required profile

• Minimum two years of high‑volume food preparation experience.
• Ability to pass a pre‑employment physical examination without restrictions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• ServSafe certification or willingness to obtain it.
• Allergen training certification or willingness to obtain it.
• Commitment to exceptional customer service and professionalism.
