Controllership Manager

About the role

The Controllership role covers financial accounting, statutory compliance, audits, internal controls and financial reporting. It works closely with business, operations and leadership teams to ensure accuracy, compliance and scalability of financial processes. The position is based in Bengaluru and is full time.

Key responsibilities

• Own monthly, quarterly and annual closing, ensure accounting complies with Ind AS, and review journal entries, provisions, accruals and reconciliations while maintaining balance sheet hygiene (AR, AP, inventory, provisions).
• Ensure compliance with GST, TDS, Income Tax, PF and ESI, manage GST filings, reconciliations, audits and notices, and support income tax assessments and regulatory filings.
• Lead statutory, tax, internal and special audits, act as single point of contact for auditors and consultants, strengthen internal controls and SOPs, and drive remediation of control gaps.
• Oversee inventory accounting and valuation across warehouses, ensure accurate COGS, landed cost and returns accounting, and work with supply chain and operations to improve inventory controls.
• Prepare and review management MIS and variance analysis, support leadership on margins, costs and working capital, and assist with board reporting, investor reporting and due diligence.
• Drive automation and improvements in ERP and accounting systems, and mentor and manage junior finance team members.
• Coordinate with external consultants, banks and internal stakeholders and act as a finance partner to business teams.
