About the role
We are seeking a Construction Manager to lead major capital programmes for Darlington Borough Council. The role will oversee delivery of new housing, schools and corporate buildings, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time and within budget.
Key responsibilities
- Manage construction projects from initiation through completion.
- Ensure compliance with CDM regulations and health & safety standards.
- Control project budgets, schedules and quality standards.
- Coordinate with internal teams, contractors and external stakeholders.
- Lead and develop project staff, fostering effective teamwork.
Required profile
- Significant experience in the construction industry, preferably on large‑scale public sector projects.
- Demonstrated knowledge of CDM regulations.
- Proven staff and project management capabilities.
