Configuration Manager, Enterprise Technology Operations

About the role

Ryan is hiring a Configuration Manager for its Enterprise Technology Operations team. The role designs, implements and sustains the enterprise Configuration Management operating model so that the CMDB is complete, accurate and trusted across the organization. It owns CMDB process, governance, data quality and execution, and partners with the Ivanti platform administration team, which keeps responsibility for the underlying tool configuration and technical maintenance. The initial focus is on setting up the framework, standards and governance; once baselines are in place, the role moves to ongoing execution, data quality and continual improvement to support Incident, Problem and Change Management.

Key responsibilities

• Define CI ownership and data responsibilities with technology, infrastructure, application and service owners, and deliver training so standards are followed.
• Run CMDB governance forums, certification cycles and data quality reviews, and act as a partner to Incident, Problem and Change teams.
• Ensure CMDB data supports impact assessment, root cause analysis and change risk evaluation, and turn CMDB metrics into actionable insights.
• Build the CMDB framework (CI classes, relationships, lifecycle states, ownership models, data standards) and run population and maintenance processes, including onboarding, validation, audits and exception handling.
• Set governance cadences to certify accuracy and track corrective actions, and coordinate remediation with CI owners and service teams.
• Maintain dashboards and KPIs on accuracy, completeness, timeliness and coverage, and work with the Ivanti administration team.
• Document configuration management controls and evidence to support audit readiness.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Business or a related field.
• 6-8+ years of experience in configuration management, service management, IT operations or operational data governance.
• Demonstrated experience designing and running CMDB or configuration management practices, and supporting Incident, Problem and Change Management.
• Preferred: experience with ITSM platforms (Ivanti preferred; ServiceNow or similar acceptable).
• Valid driver's license required.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and web research.
• Familiarity with Power BI or Tableau preferred.
• Process design and documentation, data quality governance, and metric dashboard building.
• Ability to influence CI owners and service teams without direct authority.

The role is a senior individual contributor with no direct people management responsibilities now, though it may later manage Configuration Analysts. The work environment is standard indoor office work, occasional long sitting, lifting up to 30 lbs, and regular interaction with employees at all levels and external auditors or vendors.
