Conduct & Compliance Risk Manager

About the role

The Conduct & Compliance Risk Manager sits within ANZ's Institutional Division Conduct and Compliance Centre of Expertise. The role is responsible for embedding best‑practice conduct and regulatory risk management across ANZ India, including the India GIFT unit, and acts as a key part of the first line of defence.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret and apply Group Risk policies, standards and regulatory obligations for conduct and compliance risk in India.
• Support impact assessments and implement regulatory, policy or risk‑standard changes.
• Coordinate regulatory change execution and own local change governance.
• Conduct inherent and residual risk assessments across institutional value chains.
• Produce thematic reviews of conduct and regulatory risk exposure, identify control gaps and recommend remediation.
• Partner with business teams to design, uplift and embed effective controls aligned with enterprise frameworks.
• Prepare governance materials to inform risk and compliance posture for senior leadership.
• Escalate material risk issues, control failures or non‑compliance matters according to escalation protocols.

Required profile

• Proven experience in conduct, compliance or regulatory risk management within a banking or financial services environment.
• Strong analytical ability to assess risk exposures and develop remediation plans.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, capable of working with frontline teams, risk experts and oversight bodies.
• Ability to interpret complex policies and translate them into actionable controls.
