Component Engineer – eAxle Sealing Design

About the role

As a Component Engineer you will lead the design and development of sealing solutions for eAxle systems. You will work on O‑rings, radial shaft seals, wet‑sealing concepts and solid form‑in‑place elastomeric solutions, ensuring they meet functional, reliability and production requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop eAxle sealing interfaces, including static and dynamic O‑rings and radial shaft seals.
• Perform sealing calculations and simulations in line with ISO 3601, DIN and internal standards.
• Apply GD&T, tolerance analysis and stack‑up methods to create detailed groove and counter‑surface designs.
• Select and validate elastomeric materials (EPDM, HNBR, FKM, ACM) for media compatibility, aging and temperature.
• Collaborate with manufacturing to address machining, injection molding, stamping and forming constraints.
• Document sealing concepts, risks, validation results and support part releases in SAP.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of sealing fundamentals, compression, stretch, groove fill and pressure‑supported behavior.
• Experience with material selection and validation for elastomers.
• Good knowledge of product development phases, validation loops and quality gates.
• Effective communication skills for presenting concepts to engineering and management.

Required skills

• Siemens UG NX for sealing and interface design
• SAP for part releases, BOMs and change management
• GD&T and tolerance analysis
• Familiarity with ISO 3601 and DIN sealing standards
• Knowledge of EPDM, HNBR, FKM and ACM materials
