Community & Operations Manager

About the role

We are seeking a warm, organized and proactive Community & Operations Manager to run the day‑to‑day activities of At the Table, a premium social space focused on Mahjong and curated community events in Chennai. You will be the face of the venue when the owner is absent, ensuring every guest enjoys a seamless and welcoming experience.

Key responsibilities

• Open and close the venue each day, maintaining security and readiness.
• Welcome members and guests, making them feel comfortable and at home.
• Set up and supervise Mahjong games and community events.
• Maintain tables, equipment and the venue in event‑ready condition.
• Coordinate with vendors, housekeeping and catering as needed.
• Manage bookings, memberships and payments.
• Handle guest queries and resolve issues calmly and professionally.
• Maintain inventory of Mahjong sets, accessories and event supplies.
• Assist with basic social‑media updates and capture event photos/videos.
• Ensure all events run smoothly and on schedule.

Required profile

• 2–5 years of experience in hospitality, luxury retail, events, premium customer service or community management.
• Excellent spoken English; Tamil is essential, Hindi a plus.
• Warm, personable, enjoys interacting with people.
• Well‑groomed, confident and presentable.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
• Calm under pressure and able to solve problems independently.
• Honest, dependable and trustworthy.
• Interest in board games, community building or lifestyle experiences is an advantage; Mahjong experience not required.

Required skills

• Proficiency with WhatsApp for guest communication.
• Strong knowledge of Excel and Google Sheets for tracking bookings, inventory and payments.
• Familiarity with digital payment platforms.
