Commis Chef – Café Kitchen Team

About the role

The Commis Chef joins HeeBee Coffee’s kitchen team to support the preparation and cooking of a variety of café‑style dishes, snacks, and accompaniments for coffee and beverages. This full‑time, on‑site role works closely with both kitchen and front‑of‑house staff to deliver a consistently high‑quality guest experience.

Key responsibilities

• Perform basic food preparation and assist with cooking tasks.
• Plate dishes and ensure presentation meets café standards.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and adhere to hygiene and safety procedures.
• Rotate stock, prepare ingredients, and help with inventory management.
• Contribute to the development of simple menu items or daily specials.

Required profile

• Strong food preparation and basic cooking abilities, with a desire to develop culinary skills in a café environment.
• Good knowledge of kitchen hygiene standards and food safety practices.
• Effective communication to coordinate with kitchen and service teams.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced setting and manage multiple tasks during busy periods.
• Prior experience in a café, restaurant, or commercial kitchen is an advantage; culinary training or certification is a plus.
• Willingness to learn, accept feedback, and grow into more advanced responsibilities.
