CloudOps Engineer – Level 1 (L1)

About the role

The CloudOps Engineer (L1) is the first point of contact for infrastructure‑related incidents and service requests. You will continuously monitor enterprise IT components, perform initial diagnostics, execute predefined operational tasks, restore services where possible, and hand over unresolved issues to higher‑level teams while ensuring SLA compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor health, availability and performance of servers, virtualization, Kubernetes clusters, storage, backup, network and GPU infrastructure using enterprise monitoring tools.
• Detect alerts, perform initial health checks, validate service availability and trigger incident notifications according to SOPs.
• Log, categorize, prioritize and troubleshoot Level 1 incidents; restore services when feasible and escalate critical cases with full documentation.
• Provide Windows and Active Directory support: account administration, password resets, basic server health verification.
• Support Linux servers: monitor availability, service status, system logs and execute approved restarts.
• Monitor virtual machines across virtualization platforms, perform basic recovery actions and escalate hypervisor issues.
• Monitor Kubernetes clusters, nodes, pods and services; perform approved pod or service restarts and escalate orchestration problems.
• Monitor storage health, capacity and backup jobs; execute authorized recovery actions and escalate failures.
• Perform basic network diagnostics, verify connectivity and validate infrastructure services.
• Monitor GPU server health, utilization and hardware alerts; coordinate hardware replacement and vendor support.
• Conduct basic hardware health checks, assist in diagnosing component failures and support replacement activities.
• Maintain accurate incident records, operational logs and shift handover documentation.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of IT infrastructure components and monitoring concepts.
• Ability to follow standard operating procedures and knowledge articles to resolve incidents.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills with a focus on rapid restoration and clear escalation.
• Good communication skills for documenting incidents and coordinating with L2/L3 teams.
• Willingness to work in shift‑based environments and adhere to SLA targets.
