CloudOps Engineer (L1) – Frontline Infrastructure Support

About the role
The Frontline Infrastructure Support Engineer (L1) is the first point of contact for all infrastructure‑related incidents and service requests. You will continuously monitor a wide range of enterprise IT components, perform initial diagnostics, execute predefined operational tasks, and restore services according to standard operating procedures.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor health, availability and performance of servers, virtualization platforms, Kubernetes clusters, storage, backup, network and GPU infrastructure using enterprise monitoring tools.
- Detect alerts, conduct initial health checks, validate service availability and trigger incident notifications.
- Log, categorize, prioritize and troubleshoot Level 1 incidents, restoring services where possible and escalating unresolved issues to L2/L3 teams.
- Provide Windows and Active Directory support, including user account administration, password resets and basic server health verification.
- Support Linux operations by monitoring server status, reviewing system logs and performing approved service restarts.
- Monitor virtual machines, perform basic VM recovery actions and coordinate with specialized teams for hypervisor issues.
- Oversee Kubernetes cluster health, execute approved pod or service restarts and escalate complex orchestration problems.
- Track storage capacity, backup job execution and perform authorized backup recovery actions.
- Conduct basic network diagnostics, verify connectivity and escalate advanced network issues.
- Monitor GPU server health, manage hardware alerts and coordinate hardware replacement with vendors.
- Perform hardware health checks, assist in component failure diagnosis and update asset records.
- Maintain accurate incident records, operational logs and shift handover documentation.
Required profile
- Ability to act as the first point of contact for infrastructure incidents and follow documented SOPs.
- Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory and Linux environments.
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies and basic VM recovery procedures.
- Understanding of Kubernetes concepts and ability to perform routine pod/service restarts.
- Basic knowledge of storage, backup processes and network diagnostics.
- Strong attention to detail for documentation and reporting.
