Cinema Manager

About the role

The Cinema Manager leads all operational aspects of a cinema venue, acting as the Revenue Centre Head. The role focuses on achieving revenue targets, maintaining high customer satisfaction scores, and ensuring smooth day‑to‑day operations in line with standard operating procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and drive financial performance (SPH, ATP, strike rate) and achieve monthly revenue goals for box office, concessions and ancillary sales.
• Implement and enforce SOPs, conduct quality and mystery shopper audits, and ensure compliance with statutory regulations.
• Lead local area marketing initiatives to increase admissions and position the cinema as a premier entertainment destination.
• Control COGS, manage P&L, and coordinate with all functional teams to optimise cost efficiency.
• Handle customer complaints promptly and ensure resolution within stipulated timelines.
• Plan and deliver on‑the‑job and operational training for managers and front‑line staff.
• Maintain staff motivation, manage attrition, and foster a collaborative cross‑functional team environment.
• Liaise with local authorities, developers and other external stakeholders to support smooth operations.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing a cinema or similar entertainment venue with full P&L responsibility.
• Strong understanding of cinema operations, projection equipment and related software.
• Ability to analyse performance data, drive corrective actions and meet revenue targets.
• Excellent people management skills with a focus on staff development and retention.
• Effective communication with customers, senior management and external authorities.
