Chief Rolling Stock Expert

About the role

SYSTRA is seeking a Chief Rolling Stock Expert to lead the technical definition and bidding process for metro rolling stock projects across India. This senior position will shape the specifications, evaluate suppliers, and ensure seamless integration of trains with the broader metro system.

Key responsibilities

• Define technical requirements for metro cars, covering propulsion, braking, HVAC, interior fit‑out and safety systems.
• Prepare tender specifications, assess rolling stock suppliers and verify compliance with bid criteria.
• Coordinate with signalling, telecommunications, track and depot teams to guarantee system integration.
• Oversee factory acceptance tests, dynamic trials and commissioning to meet performance and safety standards.
• Provide technical inputs, compliance matrices and design documentation for bid submissions.

Required profile

• Graduate degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 25 years of experience in railway or railway‑related industry.
• At least 5 years of experience with urban rail passenger‑carrying systems.
