Category Expert – Indirect Purchasing

About the role

We are seeking a Category Expert for Indirect Purchasing to lead sourcing projects and develop category strategies within Bosch’s Material field Facility Management. The role involves close collaboration with internal stakeholders and suppliers to drive cost‑effective, high‑quality procurement solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Run end‑to‑end sourcing projects for indirect materials (source‑to‑contract).
• Engage with business units to understand demand and define sourcing strategies.
• Build and maintain deep relationships with key suppliers, including mentorship and performance monitoring.
• Manage supplier performance, deliveries, quality compliance, data quality, and contract administration.
• Lead complex contract negotiations, both competitive and non‑competitive.
• Drive purchasing automation, e‑commerce, and use of indirect procurement IT tools.
• Design and execute negotiation strategies, evaluate total cost of ownership, and conduct market research.
• Communicate category strategies to internal stakeholders and suppliers.
• Steer global and cross‑divisional projects, balancing RFQ processes and TCO evaluations.
• Maintain master data in relevant IT systems and ensure compliance requirements are met.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Electronics Engineering.
• 5–8 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, and contract management, preferably in indirect purchase.
• Proven experience in negotiation and supplier management.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in interdisciplinary teams.
