Cashier – Branch Banking

About the role

The Cashier is responsible for executing all cash‑related transactions and operations at a branch, ensuring compliance with internal and external banking guidelines. This full‑time position supports the Branch Operation Officer and contributes to the smooth functioning of the cash department.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process cheques, drafts, dividend warrants, pay orders and other instruments within authorized limits.
• Disburse cash for withdrawal requests and collect cash for deposit challans.
• Collect loan repayments as per EMI schedules and maintain accurate system entries.
• Maintain inward/outward registers, petty‑cash registers, and assets registers; submit requisition forms to the Regional Head Office.
• Perform daily cash tallying, prepare end‑of‑day reports, and manage the branch vault jointly with the Operations Officer.
• Provide courteous customer service, address queries, and promote cross‑selling of bank products.
• Ensure compliance with all regulations, bank policies, and defined turnaround times for transactions.
• Validate customer authenticity during cash withdrawals and verify deposit slip accuracy.
