Cashier – Branch Banking (Full‑time)

About the role

The Cashier is responsible for executing all cash‑related transactions and operations at the branch in line with internal and external banking guidelines. The role includes maintaining registers, performing end‑of‑day reconciliations and ensuring accurate cash handling.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process cheques, drafts, dividend warrants, pay orders and other instruments, providing acknowledgements.
• Disburse cash for withdrawal requests and collect cash for deposit challans, updating the system accordingly.
• Maintain inward/outward registers, petty cash and assets registers, and forward requisitions to the Regional Head Office.
• Perform daily cash tallying, prepare the End‑of‑Day branch report and oversee vault operations jointly with the Operations Officer.
• Interact with customers, promote cross‑selling opportunities and educate them on alternate banking channels.
• Ensure compliance with all regulations, bank policies and defined turnaround times for cash transactions.

Required profile

• Graduation (any stream), preferably Finance or Commerce.
• 1–2 years of experience handling high‑volume cash transactions and making entries in financial modules/ERP.

Required skills

• Cash handling and accounting proficiency.
• Experience with ERP financial modules or similar accounting software.
• Computer operation and basic software usage.
• Strong numerical aptitude.
