Buyer – Associate (Procurement)

About the role

The Buyer Associate supports procurement and sourcing activities, ensuring timely and cost‑effective purchase of goods and services. The role involves coordinating with suppliers, managing purchase orders, and analysing spend data.

Key responsibilities

• Create and manage purchase orders in the procurement system.
• Review purchase requisitions for accuracy before order placement.
• Coordinate with suppliers for quotations, order confirmations, and delivery schedules.
• Track orders and follow up on open deliveries to ensure on‑time fulfillment.
• Resolve supplier and invoice issues in collaboration with Accounts Payable and internal stakeholders.
• Maintain procurement data, supplier records, and purchasing documentation.
• Support sourcing activities, including RFQ/RFP processes and supplier evaluations.
• Analyse pricing, spending trends, and purchasing data to identify savings opportunities.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, operations teams, and suppliers to meet business needs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (or associate degree/High School diploma with relevant experience).
• 2–3 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, sourcing, or supply‑chain operations.
• Strong knowledge of procurement processes and the purchase‑order lifecycle.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis.

Required skills

• Experience with ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP, or Ariba.
• Microsoft Excel.
