Business Reporting Trainer / Subject Matter Expert

About the role

BASF is looking for an experienced Business Accounting and Reporting Trainer / Subject Matter Expert to lead knowledge transfer and capability development for its new Global Hub in India. The role combines hands‑on SAP expertise with strong training and communication skills to ensure seamless process hand‑overs and sustainable capability building.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary point of contact for process transition from the sending location and manage knowledge‑transfer activities.
• Design and deliver classroom, virtual and on‑the‑job training covering business accounting, costing, cost management and SAP processes.
• Create and maintain documentation, user guides, process maps and job aids to support long‑term capability.
• Assess trainee understanding through evaluations and provide post‑training coaching.
• Collaborate with global and local teams to ensure smooth hand‑over of responsibilities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field; CA/CMA advantageous.
• 8‑10 years of experience in business accounting, reporting, costing, cost management or shared‑services environment.
• Proven ability to conduct knowledge transfer, create process documentation and assess learner readiness.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation and stakeholder‑management skills.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with SAP ERP (ECC and/or S/4HANA) covering accounting, costing and cost‑management processes.
• Working knowledge of SAP costing concepts, cost‑center accounting and variance reporting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and reporting tools.
