Business Development Officer

About the role

The Business Development Officer will work on-site in Kozhikode, focusing on expanding Surekha Exports' presence in the sports infrastructure market. You will identify new opportunities, nurture client relationships, and support the full sales cycle from lead generation to project handover.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities with schools, sports academies, clubs, government bodies, and private organisations.
• Research potential markets, generate and qualify leads, and prepare proposals.
• Participate in client meetings and presentations, collaborating with project, technical and marketing teams.
• Develop tailored solutions, negotiate contracts, and support the sales cycle from initial contact to project handover.
• Monitor market trends, attend industry events, and provide regular reports and forecasts to management.

Required profile

• Strong business development and sales skills, including lead generation, client relationship management, and negotiation.
• Ability to conduct market research, analyse opportunities and develop growth strategies for the sports infrastructure sector.
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities to engage diverse stakeholders.
• Organisational and time‑management skills to handle multiple prospects and proposals efficiently.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Sports Management or a related field (preferred).
• Prior experience in construction, sports infrastructure or B2B project‑based sales is an advantage.
• Willingness to travel within the region for client visits, site inspections and industry events.

Required skills

• Proficiency with basic office productivity tools.
• Experience using CRM or sales‑tracking systems.
