Business Analyst (AML, Trade Surveillance, Compliance)

About the role

An in-office Business Analyst is sought for the Legal and Compliance Technology team in Global Technology & Operations, based in Pune. The team supports the Legal & Compliance, Audit and Risk departments, covering internally developed applications, third-party hosted apps and externally hosted solutions such as anti-money laundering and customer screening, trade surveillance, compliance and audit management and risk tracking. The Business Analyst acts as Business Analyst / Product Owner for AML, Trade Surveillance, Compliance Task Management and Employee Trade Compliance, and works closely with business users and internal technology teams.

Key responsibilities

• Collect and document business requirements and turn them into IT and system specifications.
• Partner with senior stakeholders across business, IT, data and quality assurance to define technology solutions and workflow strategy.
• Manage product and project lifecycles, research, plan and execute projects including acquisition, upgrades and maintenance of software, and track project status for stakeholders.
• Manage third-party vendor implementations, SLAs and total cost of ownership, and coordinate offshore teams.
• Provide technical support, consulting, training and problem-solving to business users, and document operational and troubleshooting procedures.
• Monitor system performance, identify risks and ensure appropriate technology controls are in place.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of business analysis and project/product management experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field.
• 3 years of focus on financial services compliance technology and 3 years of financial industry experience.
• Experience with AML technology; trade surveillance experience preferred.
• Experience managing offshore and global teams.
• Clear spoken and written English, with strong communication and influencing skills.

Required skills

• Functional knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
• Project management and process improvement using Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Co-Pilot, Visio, JIRA, Confluence and SQL.
• Ability to build and manage relationships with onshore and offshore stakeholders.

Working hours are 3 PM to 11 PM IST, with some flexibility to support stakeholders across time zones. The role offers internal and external training in technical and leadership areas and exposure to other business and technology groups.
