Bus Driver – Tech On Wheels Program

About the role

Masoom is looking for a dedicated Bus Driver to operate the Tech On Wheels vehicle, a mobile classroom that brings digital learning tools to night schools across Mumbai. This full‑time, on‑site position supports the organization’s mission of improving education access for underserved students.

Key responsibilities

• Drive the Tech On Wheels bus safely along scheduled routes, ensuring timely arrival and departure at each school.
• Perform daily vehicle checks, basic maintenance inspections, and keep the interior clean and orderly.
• Load, unload, and secure digital equipment and educational materials; assist staff in setting up the mobile classroom.
• Maintain accurate trip logs, report any vehicle issues promptly, and coordinate repairs with service providers.
• Interact respectfully with students, school staff, and community members, adhering to all traffic and safety regulations.

Required profile

• Valid commercial or public‑transport driving licence with a strong safety record.
• Familiarity with Mumbai routes and ability to work evening or late hours.
• High‑school completion or equivalent; defensive‑driving or safety training is a plus.
• Reliability in following schedules, maintaining documentation, and complying with organisational policies.

Required skills

• Basic vehicle inspection and routine maintenance knowledge.
• Comfort handling digital and educational equipment with basic troubleshooting ability.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with students and staff.
