Big Data Developer – Skywise

About the role

We are looking for a Big Data Developer to work on Airbus Skywise, a data‑intensive platform built on Apache Spark. The role involves designing, developing, and optimizing high‑quality server‑side solutions while collaborating with an international, multi‑functional team.

Key responsibilities

• Understand business processes and the technical architecture of the Skywise portfolio.
• Design, develop, and deliver scalable, reliable Big Data solutions using Spark, Java, and Python.
• Perform deep‑dive root‑cause analysis, performance tuning, and code auditing.
• Define and promote best practices and golden rules for development.
• Engage with European customers to gather requirements and ensure successful delivery.

Required profile

• Graduate degree with at least 4 years of professional experience.
• Minimum 2 years of hands‑on experience developing on the Skywise platform.
• At least 1 year of support or customer‑service experience, preferably with European clients.
• Strong problem‑solving and analytical abilities.

Required skills

• Apache Spark (Java/Scala) development.
• Java programming.
• JavaScript or TypeScript.
• Python, including PySpark and Pandas.
• SQL and relational database knowledge.
• Familiarity with Skywise dashboard components (e.g., Slate, Workshop, Object Explorer).
• Experience working in Agile environments (Scrum, Kanban, XP).
