BI Architect - Spotfire, Databricks, AWS

About the role

Amgen is looking for an experienced BI Architect to design and implement scalable, high-performance enterprise BI architectures. The role focuses on data modeling, visualization, governance, self-service BI enablement and cloud-based BI solutions, working with data engineers, business stakeholders and leadership. The preferred candidate has extensive Spotfire experience, followed by Power BI or Tableau.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop enterprise BI architectures and implement the architectural vision for TIBCO Spotfire at the enterprise level, hosted in AWS
• Partner with data engineers and architects on data modeling, caching and query performance in Spotfire
• Build reusable frameworks and templates for dashboards, data models and automation
• Optimize query performance, indexing, partitioning, caching and report rendering
• Implement real-time and batch data integration from APIs, ERP/CRM systems (SAP, Salesforce, Dynamics 365), cloud storage and third-party sources
• Set up BI governance: data cataloging, metadata management, access control, data lineage and compliance
• Troubleshoot dashboards, paginated reports and embedded analytics
• Implement DataOps and CI/CD pipelines for BI, with Deployment Pipelines, Git and Infrastructure as Code
• Mentor BI developers, analysts and business teams and foster self-service analytics

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree with 9-13 years of experience in Computer Science, IT or a related field
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and communication skills, ability to work with global, virtual teams and to present publicly

Required skills

• Spotfire (information links, Spotfire Analyst, Spotfire Server, Spotfire Web Player)
• Databricks (Apache Spark, Delta Lake, SQL, PySpark)
• Scripting and extensions in Python or R
• Dimensional modeling, star schema and data virtualization
• Cloud data warehouses such as Azure Synapse, AWS Redshift, Snowflake, Google BigQuery or SSAS
• BI governance, access control, metadata management and data lineage
• Agile BI, SAFe, DevOps for BI and CI/CD
• Good-to-have: Spotfire Lead Discovery, Power BI/Tableau, GraphQL, REST APIs, data mesh, NLP and AutoML
