Bank Cashier (Full‑time, Multiple Locations)

About the role

The Cashier is responsible for executing all cash‑related transactions and operations at the branch in line with internal and external banking guidelines. This full‑time position ensures accurate cash handling, end‑of‑day reconciliation, and provides courteous service to customers.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process cheques, drafts, dividend warrants, pay orders and other instruments within authorized limits.
• Disburse cash for withdrawal requests and collect cash for deposit challans.
• Maintain inward/outward registers, petty‑cash register, assets register and submit requisition forms to the Regional Head Office.
• Perform daily cash tallying, prepare the End‑of‑Day Branch report and ensure vault operations with the Operations Officer.
• Interact with customers during deposits and withdrawals, identify cross‑sell opportunities and educate them on new products and alternate channels.
• Count and verify cash at the start and end of the day, safeguard cash, keys and valuables in joint custody with the Assistant Branch Manager.
• Adhere to defined turnaround times, comply with all regulations and bank policies related to cashier operations.
• Validate customer authenticity for cash withdrawals and ensure accuracy of cash deposit slips for audit purposes.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle cash transactions accurately.
• Excellent customer service orientation with the ability to address queries and grievances promptly.
• Knowledge of banking guidelines and cash‑handling procedures.
• Capability to perform end‑of‑day reconciliation and maintain accurate registers.
