Bank Cashier (Full‑time)

About the role

The Bank Cashier is responsible for executing all cash‑related transactions and operations at the branch in line with internal and external banking guidelines. This full‑time position ensures accurate cash handling, end‑of‑day reconciliation, and high‑quality customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process cheques, drafts, dividend warrants, pay orders and other instruments within authorized limits.
• Disburse cash for withdrawal requests and collect cash for deposit challans.
• Collect loan repayments as per EMI schedules and maintain appropriate system entries.
• Maintain inward/outward registers, petty‑cash register, assets register and submit requisitions to the Regional Head Office.
• Perform daily cash tally, prepare the End‑of‑Day branch report and ensure vault security jointly with the Operations Officer.
• Provide courteous customer service, identify cross‑sell opportunities and educate customers on alternate banking channels.
• Adhere to defined turnaround times, regulatory requirements and bank policies for all cashier operations.
• Validate customer authenticity during cash withdrawals and update passbooks as needed.

Required profile

• Full‑time availability with a high level of integrity and attention to detail.
• Strong numeracy and ability to handle cash accurately.
• Good communication skills and a customer‑service orientation.
• Ability to work closely with the Branch Operations Officer and follow banking procedures.
• Basic understanding of banking regulations and compliance requirements.
