Bank Cashier – Branch Operations

About the role

We are looking for a diligent Cashier to join our branch network. The role involves handling all cash‑related transactions, maintaining registers and ensuring accurate end‑of‑day reconciliation in line with banking guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process cheques, drafts, dividend warrants, pay orders and other instruments within authorized limits.
• Disburse cash for withdrawal requests and collect cash for deposit challans.
• Collect loan repayments as per EMI schedules and record entries in the system.
• Maintain inward/outward registers, petty‑cash and assets registers; prepare requisitions for the Regional Head Office.
• Perform daily cash tally, prepare the End‑of‑Day branch report and ensure vault operations in coordination with the Operations Officer.
• Provide courteous customer service, explain repayment dates, promote bank products and guide customers to alternate channels.
• Ensure compliance with all regulations, bank policies and defined turnaround times for transactions.
• Validate customer identity during cash withdrawals and verify deposit slips for audit purposes.

Required profile

• Full‑time position in a branch banking environment.
• Grade AM‑II as per internal classification.
• Reports to the Branch Operation Officer.
• Ability to handle cash accurately and maintain detailed registers.
• Strong customer‑service orientation and communication skills.
