Bank Cashier – Branch Operations

About the role

The Branch Cashier is responsible for executing all cash‑related transactions and operations in accordance with internal and external banking guidelines. This full‑time position ensures accurate cash handling, end‑of‑day reconciliation, and excellent customer service at the branch counter.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process cheques, drafts, dividend warrants, pay orders and other instruments within authorized limits.
• Disburse cash for withdrawal requests and collect cash for deposit challans.
• Collect loan repayments as per EMI schedules and maintain accurate system entries.
• Maintain inward/outward registers, petty‑cash and asset registers; submit requisition forms to the Regional Head Office.
• Perform daily cash tally, prepare End‑of‑Day reports, and manage the branch vault jointly with the Operations Officer.
• Provide courteous customer service, address queries, and promote bank products and alternate channels.
• Ensure compliance with all regulations, bank policies, and defined turnaround times for transactions.
• Validate customer identity during cash withdrawals and verify cash deposit slips for audit purposes.

Required profile

• Experience in cash handling or banking operations.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures.
• Good communication skills for interacting with customers.
• Ability to work collaboratively with branch staff and maintain confidentiality.
